Donovan, a qualified chef and Hotel Manager gained his experience and training whilst serving in the South African Navy. Donovan was scheduled to leave the Navy, when he was offered the position with a group of South African Chefs who would travel to 19 countries doing good relations functions for South Africa. This group of Executive chefs catered in the various country quizines for presidents, heads of the defence force and other political leaders. His experience of international functions and management around the world is unquestionably beneficial to our clients demands for international and local cuisine.
Donovan furthered his career by completing a Hotel Management Diploma. His love for the Food and Beverage industry developed when he was appointed Food and Beverage Manager for the Internationally known Newlands Cricket Club based at Newlands Cricket Stadium.
Thereafter he continued with this profession in his career as Catering Manager with CPOA and later with Communicare in their retirement villages. His passion for the elderly was noticed by his superiors and his career moved into the field of General Management within the retirement industry. He was responsible for the full Management of Villages within many of the top retirement villages in South Africa.
As a specialist in the Retirement Industry, Food and Beverage and Banqueting, Donovan places his emphasis on Quality, Quantity and blue Print Design and Cost Controls. Since the birth of Hervasa Property Management in 1999, the Development and Management Services Division has grown considerably, with long term contracts well into 2012
Donovan branched out in 2000 and formed a section 21 company as support to Healthcare and Retirement Villages and associated industries with regards to operational, building, design and hospitality requirements. Hervasa as it is know is a company which accredits developments under a set of operational standards and ethics. There is an annual accreditation procedure which in return gives developments exposure over the world wide web. As a Managing Corporate Company we focus on service to the residents within a well managed environment.
